How it Works
BBL HEROic uses IPL to treat the skin. The device’s handpiece emits quick pulses of broad-spectrum visible and infrared light across the skin’s upper layers, targeting specific areas:
Pigmented lesions
The melanin absorbs the light, triggering biological processes that destroy the target. Within days, the melanin containing cells are destroyed and eliminated. Over time, these lesions darken and flake off or are absorbed by the body.
Facial vessels and redness
BBL HEROic utilizes broadband light (BBL) technology to target both hemoglobin in blood vessels and melanin in the skin. This targeted light absorption generates heat, triggering a two-part process. First, the heat collapses the walls of blood vessels containing oxyhemoglobin, leading to their reabsorption by the body. This reduces the appearance of redness on the skin’s surface. Second, the thermal energy stimulates fibroblasts in the dermal layer to produce new collagen and elastin fibers. This process improves skin elasticity and firmness, while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. By promoting the body’s natural healing process and boosting collagen production, BBL HEROic effectively addresses sun damage, age spots, redness, and other signs of aging.

BBL Procedure
During your treatment session, the BBL handpiece is passed over the target areas. You will feel a warming sensation with each flash of light. The handpiece incorporates a cooling plate that keeps the surface of your skin comfortable throughout treatment and does not require a numbing cream. Each body part takes only minutes to treat. Right after treatment, the pigmented or vascular lesions will darken, confirming that the light has reached its intended target, indicating an effective treatment session.
No downtime is required after treatment. You can immediately resume your normal routine, as long as you stay out of direct sun exposure.
