How excel V+ Works
The laser delivers pulses of light energy which cause the blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel which is later reabsorbed by your body. Blood flow will then be redirected to veins deeper below your skin’s surface, where it should be.

Your treatment provider will select one of excel V+’s two lasers and customize the treatment settings to target the color and depth of your skin concern. You may feel a moderate to severe pinprick or flash of heat. A mild sunburn-like sensation is expected. This usually lasts 2-24 hours but can persist up to 72 hours. Mild swelling may accompany this, but it is usually resolved within 3 days. The redness/vessels may undergo immediate fraying or blanching, or they may exhibit a slight purple or red color change. The vessels will fully or partially fade in about 10-14 days. Pigmentation may initially look raised and/or darker with a reddened perimeter. The lesions will gradually turn darker over the next 24 hours. The lesion will progress to crusting, and then it will be naturally shed by the skin in 7-14 days.

For full-face treatments, swelling will peak 24 to 48 hours post-treatment and usually resolves within a few days. Your provider may recommend a topical steroid to reduce swelling as needed. Treated brown spots will darken following the treatment and slough off within 3 to 5 days.
