How Sculptra Works
Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, which fill lines, wrinkles, and folds, Sculptra is a biostimulatory aesthetic injectable that stimulates collagen production. It improves skin glow, tightness, and contour for up to two years. Sculptra works in the deep dermis to reinforce the skin’s structure and help replace lost collagen. While other fillers typically show immediate results that last about 6-12 months, Sculptra stimulates collagen production and works gradually to correct wrinkles and folds.

Sculptra Procedure
A topical anesthetic may be used to numb the area of your skin so you don’t feel any pain or discomfort. Your aesthetic nurse practitioner (NP) injector will clean the area of your skin where you’ll receive the Sculptra injection and then will use a small needle to inject the filler underneath your skin. You may feel some pressure, but you shouldn’t feel pain.

How soon will I see results, and how long will they last?
You may see progressive, visible results within the first few weeks after each treatment session. Usually, you will see results as soon as 1 month, and you can have sustained results for up to 2 years. A typical treatment is 2 sessions spaced at least 3 to 4 weeks apart. Does Sculptra hurt?
The needle may pinch or sting during the treatment, but most people do not experience much discomfort. After treatment, redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness, and/or itching may occur near the injection site. This is normal and typically disappears within a few hours to a few days.
